General scope of the semiconductor optics group is the comprehensive analysis of the optical properties of semiconductor and hybrid semiconductor, organics nanostructures.  Those nanostructures comprise quantum dots, nanowires and quantum wells arranged to function as photon sources, light-emitting diodes, semiconductor lasers including surface emitters (VCSEL – Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers). For optical characterization, we use, besides conventional methods, micro-photoluminescence, femtosecond time-resolved spectroscopy, and other sophisticated techniques.
